How Warkworth Wellsford Hospice Mobilised Volunteers to Raise Millions. A Capital Campaign Case Study

Presentation - Thursday 14th April, 2:45 - 3:45pm

With Lesley Ingham, Warkworth Wellsford Hospice and Sheena Revington CFRE

In 2014 Warkworth Wellsford Hospice set out to raise $4 million for a new community hospice. The hospice raised $2m in 6 moths and a further million in the next 8 months (the campaign is still ongoing). More than half the gifts - including one of the largest - came from new donors. This session will describe the magic that can happen when people are persuaded that the project matters and are invited to be part of its success.

Major learning outcomes include:

  1. Why volunteers are essential in a capital campaign and what their role involves
  2. How to recruit the right people for your fundraising team and ensure they are equipped for their role
  3. Preparing for a capital campaign and establishing processes to keep your records straight
